Anca is an Associate Director at CEG Europe, based in London. She has more than 6 years’ experience as an economist in the public and private sectors. Her focus is on competition, litigation, damages, and regulatory matters.

She specialises in the application of microeconomics and econometric modelling to address competition, regulatory, and policy issues. She has advised clients in the context of various market investigations, commercial disputes, and mergers, across a wide range of sectors, including media and communications, telecoms, energy, water, financial services, healthcare and transport.

Anca also has considerable research experience in evaluating and assessing the impact of public policies, including economic assessments of costs and benefits associated with various policies.

During her time at CEG, Anca has provided economic advice and analysis in various commercial litigation cases and mergers. The most recent experience involved the application of economics to assess liability and estimate potential damages in pending litigation against banks in the foreign exchange cartel and in the Libor cartel. She has also contributed research to the 2016 GSMA report “Resetting competition policy frameworks for the digital ecosystem”.

Prior to joining CEG, Anca worked as a competition economist at KPMG. Prior to joining KPMG, Anca was a Research Fellow with the American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) where she conducted research on various public policies. She also worked for 2 years with the UK Competition Commission (now the CMA) advising on various merger cases and market investigations.

Anca holds a PhD in Economics and a B.S. in Economics with honours from Clemson University.

She is fluent in English and Romanian.
