Jason Ockerby is a founding director of CEG. He is an economist with over 15 years’ experience in competition and regulatory economics, including advising on mergers, access to essential facilities, misuse of market power and damages cases. Jason has specialist skills in advising on network industries.
Jason has advised clients in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, India, South Africa and throughout the Asia Pacific. He has advised clients in a range of industries including telecommunications, electricity, gas, mining, airports, broadcasting, oil production, LNG, financial services, rail transport, port infrastructure, gaming and agriculture.
Jason’s clients include Australia’s largest businesses, infrastructure providers, access seekers, industry bodies, regulators (including the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) and various government agencies.
He has been engaged on a number of highly contentious cases and regulatory proceedings. Jason has worked with major law firms in Australia and New Zealand on matters including access to essential facilities, anticompetitive bundling, merger clearance, competition policy and potential misuses of market power.
Jason has given expert oral testimony to the Federal Court of Australia and has had reports on regulatory matters accepted by the Australian Competition Tribunal.
Jason has a Masters of Economics and is a member of the Competition and Consumer Committee of the Law Council of Australia.
