Dr. Thierry Bros is a senior research fellow of The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, the world leading independent energy institute specialising in advanced research into the economics and politics of international energy.

He is a member of the EU-Russia Gas Advisory Council and an advisor to the World Energy Council - Global Gas Centre.

He is also a senior energy expert at Energy Delta Institute and a visiting professor at SciencesPo Paris.

Furthermore, Thierry regularly trains professionals for the trade association of the French gas industry.

In 2016, he founded thierrybros.com to provide independent research, advice, training & expertise on energy markets after 25 years in the energy field, from the policy side to trading floors.

Thierry was from 2010 to 2016 Senior European Gas and LNG Analyst for Société Générale where he was highly regarded by the energy community, notably accredited as the best European gas analyst in the banking industry for five years in a row (2013-2017).

Thierry developed an excellent knowledge on gas and LNG pricing issues. In his book “After the US shale gas revolution”, published in 2012, Thierry rightly forecasted that the surge in US oil and gas production combined with European energy efficiency was going to deeply alter the energy and geopolitical landscapes.

Thierry has a significant experience of the energy markets and policies. From 2002 to 2007, Thierry was a Senior Oil & Gas expert at the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, where he represented France at the International Energy Agency, the European Commission and the Energy Charter. His responsibilities included providing global oil and gas industry reviews to senior French officials and negotiating European directives. As a gas specialist, he reviewed the regulations governing the liberalisation of the French gas market and supervised the Contingency Gas Plan.

Thierry regularly presents at conferences his research results and is well known for his ability to communicate his findings to an international audience.

Thierry holds a Master of chemical engineering from ESPCI ParisTech and a PhD from Ecole Centrale Paris.

A French national, he speaks fluent English. All his publications are in English.
