Career opportunities

CEG is an economics consultancy where our economists work on challenging, complex and high-profile cases. We pride ourselves in the quality of our work and the desire to get to the bottom of issues to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. CEG has been in the forefront of consultancies encouraging flexible working. Our economists include those that want to work full time or part time and have always had the opportunity to work from home.

All our economists – senior and junior – collaborate across different offices, are fully involved in our cases and are actively encouraged to contribute to CEG’s evolving thinking. We proactively develop and encourage people to progress both personally and in their careers. We do not have unnecessary hierarchy, bureaucracy and duplication in how we work. At CEG, you will be encouraged, challenged and rewarded.

We are always on the lookout for outstanding candidates at all levels and we welcome applications (also for unadvertised positions) at any time. For director and senior advisor roles we suggest to e-mail or call our managing director Nils von Hinten-Reed (Europe). For all other roles, please send a full CV and cover letter explaining your experience and motivation for working at CEG to the contacts indicated at the preferred office.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of the underlying economics
Our economists have strong analytical and technical skills. Successful candidates usually have a master's degree (or higher) in economics and/or statistics. Economic consulting is not about textbooks and we therefore require that candidates have a strong interest in or prior experience in applying economics to real-world cases within the relevant legal environment.

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
Our economists are required to communicate complex economic issues and solutions in a straightforward, clear and professional manner to colleagues and non-economist audiences. English is a requirement, additional languages are a plus.

  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Successful candidates must be able to prioritise, think clear and act calm under pressure and tight deadlines. The nature of our work – at times – requires us to produce high quality work at short notice when the stakes are high.
