Mariann is a Senior Associate and is supporting the team in The Hague office.
Prior to joining CEG, Mariann worked for the Hungarian Competition Authority where she was part of the Chief Economist Team as an economic analyst for two years. She also worked for two years at a leading investment bank as a quantitative model developer for fixed income products.
Mariann holds a Master in Economics from the University of Amsterdam, specialising in Markets and Regulation, and a Bachelor in Applied Economics from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. After finishing her MSc, she did a semester of data science courses at the University of Porto through an exchange programme for excellent students.
Mariann is native in Hungarian, speaks fluent English, has good knowledge of of Dutch and basic communication skills in French.
Recent Work
Mariann’s work at the Hungarian Competition Authority related to antitrust cases and sector analyses. She has experience in market definition, exclusionary conduct, abuse of dominance and market research design in the various industries of construction materials, the hospitality industry, television broadcasting and digital platforms.
Currently, Mariann is involved in projects on collective proceedings in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom on behalf of the claimants, where she assists in developing frameworks for economic analysis, pass-on and in calculating damages. Apart from collective proceedings, Mariann recently coordinated CEG work on an international arbitration case.

Mariann has a seat in the University of Amsterdam ASE (Amsterdam School of Economics) Advisory Board.
