CEG co-authors new practical handbook on German actions for antitrust damages
Nils von Hinten Reed and Dr. Fred Wandschneider wrote on the economic proof of causation and the quantification of damages in cartel proceedings. Their contribution was published in the practical handbook “Kartellrechtliche Schadensersatzklagen“, released today.
The book, written jointly with a team of German and European antitrust lawyers and edited by Prof. Dr. Stancke, Prof. Dr. Lahme and Georg Weidenbach, provides in-depth practical solutions to legal and economic problems associated with cartel-related damages claims. The book focuses on damages issues in Germany in the light of the 9th GWB Amendment, and is aimed at both claimants and defendants. Topics covered include: procedural peculiarities of antitrust damages suits, access to information, legitimacy, statute of limitations, types of damage and economic theories of harm, total debt and recourse, claim for equalization, settlement design, indemnification clauses and liability.
